Sinjeongho Sports Park & Outdoor Pool

A while back, we ventured over to Sinjeongho Sports Park. We went for the Lotuses, but ended up walking the trail until the park closed at Dusk. And while it wasn’t the absolute most thrilling of our wanderings, it’s worth a visit if you’re looking to get out of the house. Today I’m sharing all the details of our visit to the park, as well as information on the Sinjeongho Outdoor Pool!

Let me just preface this by saying that my camera was having some issues the day we went, which is one reason I didn’t post about this right away. I wasn’t overly thrilled with the blurry quality of the pictures. I think it was a mixture of poor lighting (as the sun was just a LITTLE lower than I would have liked) and having my camera on the wrong setting the ENTIRE time. Oops. So please enjoy these super blurry photos that 100% do not do the area justice.

We weren’t really sure what we were getting ourselves into with this small adventure, but we were dying to get out of the house the day we went. And since the park is only about a 35ish-minute drive from our house in Pyeongtaek, we figured we had nothing to lose. We parked at the closest lot (which thankfully still had some spaces) and headed to the marked path. We knew we wouldn’t have time to walk the ENTIRE path before the park closed, but we set off anyway, eager to stretch our legs and do what we do best… wander!

Our time at the park itself was short-lived, but we did enjoy it (despite E getting stung by a wasp). We also noticed a pool inside a fence at the very beginning of our walk. We weren’t sure what it was at the time, but after doing research we found that it is the Sinjeongho Outdoor Pool and it’s perfect for families. A couple weeks later, I invited some new friends of ours to join me and the kids at the pool with their five kids.

Something I love about this water park is how shallow all the pools are. I could easily walk through each of the pools, which made it far less stressful to keep an eye on all of the kids. We had our little ones wearing puddle jumpers, but our older kids were fine to go off on their own without me having to worry. And another winning point – this pool is CHEAP! We’re talking ₩19,000 (about $14) for my and ALL five of my kids. You can’t beat that.

The pool was CROWDED, but that didn’t seem to bother anybody. We had a good time chasing the kids around while cooling off in the unbearable heat (and it WAS unbearably hot that day). We didn’t stay at the pool for TOO long, as we all had other obligations we needed to get to later, but this was the perfect way to spend a painfully hot and humid day on the Peninsula.

’til next time…
