17 Indoor Activities near Camp Humphreys

Winter is coming fast on the Peninsula and, while I don’t approve, facts don’t exactly require my approval. I generally prefer outdoor activities (as can be seen by the MULTITUDE of outdoor activities I’ve posted about), but I’ve found Korea to have many amazing indoor activities available for all ages. Today I’m sharing 17 different indoor activities, all within about 2 hours from Camp Humphreys. I hope this list helps you get out and explore, despite the frigid temperatures (that will just continue dropping for the next few months). For your convenience, I’ve separated the list into three categories: FREE activities, CHEAP activities, and PRICIER activities. Happy exploring!

Amenities: There are bathrooms located throughout the complex that the zoo is located in. However, they aren’t the easiest to get to once you get into the zoo. I recommend taking a bathroom trip before entering the zoo, especially if you’re visiting with little kids with tiny bladders. At the end of the zoo there is an indoor playground, gift shop, and small cafe offering a small variety of snacks and drinks.
Parking: There is parking underneath the complex that Uncle Brooks Zoo is located in. They validate parking, so make sure to bring a picture of your license plate if you do not have the last four numbers memorized. Naver doesn’t show the parking garage entrances for the complex, but once you get to the complex, any of the entrances are fine.

Bird Sori Parrot Cafe

Location: Sosabeol
Driving time from Camp Humphreys: around 15-20 minutes
Tolls: None
Cost:
Admission
₩8,000 per person for one hour
Food for birds
₩3,500 per cup
Parking: There is a parking garage located underneath the Bird Sori Cafe. They validate parking, so make sure to bring a picture of your driver’s license if you don’t have the last four numbers memorized. Parking is a little confusing because there are two parking garages with two entrances side-by-side. When facing the buildings, you’ll want to turn into the entrance on the left (it is both an entrance and an exit) and park down there. We parked in the other garage which meant we didn’t get validated parking AND we also got stuck in the garage because it didn’t accept American credit cards. If you are worried about parking, you can park at Golden Tower and walk the short distance to the Cafe.
